Something is happening in the skies over Munich. Specifically, over the Munich Airport, forcing it to shut down from 10:00 p.m. Thursday (October 2) until 5:00 a.m. the next morning. This is no joking matter, and anyone dismissing it as such is not paying enough attention. Certainly, those 3000 passengers on board 17 flights that were grounded were not amused. Nor were those on the 15 flights that were diverted to other airports in Germany and Vienna, Austria.

This is affecting regular folks, good people just trying to get from point A to point B. The type who don’t give a fat rats ass about UAPs and “disclosure.” And yet, here they are, hundreds of passengers forced to spend the night on cots in some soul numbing airport. And this could just be the beginning. Who knows where it will lead? Think of Tom Hanks in The Terminal, on steroids.

Tom Hanks in “The Terminal” (2004).

What are the authorities saying about the matter? A statement released by the Munich Airport on Friday said there had been “several drone sightings,” and that federal police had deployed helicopters to track down the drones, to no avail. That’s not much to go on but a consolation prize of drinks, snacks and blankets were distributed to those hunkering down for the night at the sparse Munich Airport.

One day later, in fact, just a few hours ago on Friday night (October 3), Munich Airport was shut down for a second night in a row. And this time, it’s not just Munich. At Elsenborn-Butgenbach Air Base in Eastern Belgium, 15 unidentified drones flew in a swarm last night then crossed over into Germany and back into Munich. Could these be hybrid ops deployed by Russia to probe NATO for weak spots as a warm up to escalation? Certainly, many EU leaders have been voicing this concern over the last week in the wake of the Danish drone incident.

As for this latest incursion, Reuters is reporting that two runways at Munich Airport were closed on Friday night for the second time in two days when drones were seen hovering overhead. On a canceled flight to London, the Captain told passengers the runways were closed “because of drone sightings near the take-off and landing runways.” Once again, police helicopters were dispatched.

An airport spokesperson stated “If we are not allowed to fly any more today then certainly more than yesterday’s 3,000 people will be stranded.” On Friday, German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt urged for legislation that would allow the military to shoot down the UAPs.

On Saturday (October 4), German newspaper BIld quoted a confidential police report suggesting the recent drone incursion were just the “tip of the iceberg,” emphasizing an increasing concern that the Russians were the hidden hand behind the drone debacle. Russia has repeatedly denied any involvement in these latest drone incidents. Bild noted that the report said that drones were “used militarily.”

Echoing these sentiments, German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt told reporters, “We are in an arms race … we want to rise to that challenge.”
