In my last article I wrote about the new Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets headed by Rep. Anna Paulina Luna. This past week was a busy one on X (formerly Twitter), with much chatter between the Task Force and the Department of Justice regarding the Epstein Files. What’s in those files, how did we get to this point, and what’s next?

Let’s dive into this time line.

At the start of the week, on Monday (February 24), Rep. Anna Paulina Luna put some pressure on Attorney General Pam Bondi; we know because she was doing this on X. She wrote:

“@AGPamBondi We saw over the weekend you are reviewing all files from JFK to Epstein! We are ALL anticipating their release! When will they be declassified and available to the public?”

Wow, I like her enthusiasm but aren’t we dealing here with thousands of pages of documents? I say give Bondi a chance to look it through for another day or two at least. We’ve waited this long.

Later that evening, Rep. Luna turned up the heat yet again, writing on X:

“On Feb 11 & Feb 19, house oversight sent a letter to the DOJ asking for status on releasing the Epstein files as well as JFK etc.

The DOJ has not responded.

Reaching out on X because we can’t seem to get a response from the AG.

@AGPamBondi what is the status of the documents? These documents were ordered to be declassified.”

All week long there’s been a lot of public messaging between the government departments by way of “tweets.” It’s as if the push for “government transparency” is being taken literally, like we can actually see the communications between departments in real time via the social media platform that is X.

You would think the folks running the show would have a direct line with one another, or maybe even run into each other at the vending machine down the hall at the Bureau.

Clearly, the social media platform of choice for this administration appears to be X. And maybe it’s not so much a coincidence being that the owner of X is none other than Elon Musk. The head of Trump’s department – DOGE.

Oh wait, I get the connection, DOGE as in Attack Dogge. So Musk is Trump’s attack dog.

I get it now.

Later that day, things took a darker turn. Rep. Luna reposted a post from Benny Johnson’s account which read, “BOMBSHELL: FBI Whistleblower Reveals The FBI is Actively DESTROYING Evidence after Kash, Bongino Takeover.”

His post shared a clip from his podcast The Benny Show, where Johnson interviews an FBI whistleblower. The whistleblower tells Johnson, “The FBI is working day and night to destroy files on these servers. Can’t be restored. I’m sure there’s info about Epstein and subversion against Americans.”

On Wednesday (February 26), Red Panda Koala tweeted a quote by Rep. Luna from an interview on News Nation with Chris Cuomo, saying:

“We sent letters to the Department of Justice. We have received that they have confirmation of those letters. My goal is not to attack or arrest Pam Bondi, but we have an investigation that we need to conduct.”

Wait. What? Did she really say that? Her goal is to “not arrest Pam Bondi?” I need to wrap my head around this. It doesn’t seem to make sense. Just give me a moment here. Does she even have the authority to arrest the Attorney General of the US? Politics can be so confusing. I’m confused.

Maybe this is just some random made up quote. The internet, as we have seen, is made up of rumors and lies.

Let’s listen to the actual interview.

Yup. That’s what she tells Chris Cuomo all right.

Later in the day, rumors started circulating by some heavy hitters on X, that Pam Bondi was “officially” scheduling the release of the Epstein Files for 12 PM EST on Friday (28 February).

This turned out to be an unsubstantiated rumor that had no bearing on reality. That is the nature of social media.

However, later that evening, Rep. Luna herself posted on X that, “My office just received a formal response from the DOJ on the Jeffrey Epstein, JFK, & RFK files.”

It was a response all right, with formal Department of Justice letter head. From the desk of the Office of the Assistance Attorney General. Now that would be Patrick Davis. In summary, it was an acknowledgment that they had received the request from Rep. Luna and they were working on the matter. Fair enough.

On Thursday morning (February 27), Rep. Luna posted on X what I took to be a rather cryptic and ominous note. It stated, “Although I have not seen the Epstein documents yet, it is very likely given the nature of powerful individuals involved that @AGPamBondi is putting herself at great risk to disclose this to the American people.” She adds, “Please keep that in mind. We also understand victims identities needing to be protected. With that exception, the American people deserve 100% transparency and we will continue to push for that.”

By Thursday afternoon, the internet was busting out the big news. The Epstein Files were released. It was official. @MarioNawfal posted:

“Epstein Files: Phase 1 hits the press.

Journalist and TV host Emily Austin leaves the White House with the first batch of the Epstein Files, confirming:

‘The rumors are true!

The Epstein-Files, baby!

Let’s make America safe again.’

AG Pam Bondi handed the documents to journalists and influencers—now, the real digging begins.

Buckle up. This is just the start.”

This event turned into its own spectacle. A group of social media influencers including DC Draino, Libs of TikTok, Mike Cernovich, and others, were seen leaving the White House carrying binders labeled “Epstein Files.”

Numerous videos of the event were posted to social media, showing the influencers ecstatic with being given the files. It would be subsequently noted that this giddy reaction seemed to contrast starkly with the somber nature of the contents of the files, it being a record of sex abuse and human trafficking.

It was 2:00 p.m. when Jay Anderson (@TheProjectUnity) tweeted “BREAKING: PHASE-1 0F EPSTEIN FILES RELEASED!”

I went straight to the FBI Vaults. Like everyone else, I couldn’t wait to get my greedy hands on those documents. These documents would spell everything out. They would right the wrongs. Expose the corruption.

All right then. I download the PDFs. I opened the first file. 44 pages long.

What the hell is going on?

What the blank is this? Now, I’m not using the word “blank” to juxtaposition with a curse word. I mean, the pages are literally blank. As in, there’s nothing on them. At all.

OK fine, I thought. Well there are 22 parts here. So I opened up the second file. 36 pages long. Again. It was filled with blank pages. Not even redacted or blotted out or unintelligible. The pages were white and pure as the driven snow.

I opened the third file. Now this was a hefty mother. 104 pages long. Nothing. Not one mark on any of the 104 pages.

All right so now I’m getting worried.

I felt I was at the butt end of some massive joke. Were they playing me for a fool?

Let’s try again. Part 4 was 49 pages long.

49 pages of sweet nothing.

Part 5 was 10 pages of more of the same nothing.

Part 6 – nothing.

A sense of doom was encroaching upon my brain I kid you not.

I felt, for a while there. That we were all doomed.

All right so I made my way to Part 9. Finally, something. There was writing on the pages this was not a joke after all. What did it say?

The heading read: FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION – DELETED PAGE INFORMATION SHEET.

It spelled out each page that was deleted. There were 574 pages deleted in all. Ouch. All right. Let’s move on. Don’t cry over spilled milk. There’s another 12 files to open.

File 10 was completely blank. All of it. File 11 had writing on it. It was another DELETED PAGE INFORMATION SHEET. This one confirmed that another 210 pages were deleted. When I finally got to a file that had something on it, there were large blocks of redacted material.

What gives? What were the other people saying? Turns out I wasn’t the only one bugging out.

A lot of people were expressing their disappointment.

20 minutes after the Epstein Files dropped, Rep. Anna Luna took to X and posted: “I nor the task force were given or reviewed the Epstein documents being released today … a NY POST story just revealed that the documents will simply be Epstein’s phonebook.”

She then adds in bold font: “THIS IS NOT WHAT WE OR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ASKED FOR and a complete disappointment. GET US THE INFORMATION WE ASKED FOR!”

The roll out of the Epstein Files was a debacle all right. Later in the day, Pam Bondi qualified this as a “Phase One” roll out promising more to come. Let’s hope the next bundle will give us some answers. Straight answers.
